TONIC - IMMUNITY - STRENGTH & PROTECTIVE
This warming, sweet and slightly spicey tasting herb root is your immune and energy support tonic. Traditionally used to build a wall of immune defense against onset of infection and recurrent infection. Also for chronic fatigue support as it builds strength and resilience. Its your winter ally for the challenging immune season and transition into spring. Use daily over months.
Traditional uses:
Immunity - restores strength by nourishing the blood (spleen tonic) and lung energy. Great for chronic infection, recurrent flu, run down energy and reducing inflammation.
Autoimmunity - regulates immune reaction, inflammation and supports lasting wellbeing.
Fatigue and exhaustion - provides nourishment over time and strength so builds resilience.
Healing for wounds, heart and kidney restoring and protectant.
As a tincture … Take 30 - 60ml per week in water or add to enhance soups, broth or teas
As dried sliced root … add 15 - 30 gm. to soups or broth during cooking. Strain
As a tea … boil water, add astragalus with other spicey herbs such as chai, cardamon, cinnamon, ginger. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Most like:
Reishi - Immune restoring like astragalus, however more calming. Astragalus is more energizing.
Siberian ginseng & Panax ginseng - more stimulating for physical energy & mental clarity but both support resilience and recovery.
Echinacea - effective in acute onset conditions, whereas Astragalus is more for long term immunity restore.
Withania/Ashwagandha - Supports stress and nerves, whereas astragalus also helps endurance and energy.
Caution:
Use under guidance with Autoimmunity, Immunosuppressive medicines, blood thinners.
